Crossed Lines is a research archive and living record of two connected AHRC-funded projects. It traces a journey from the cultural and political history of the telephone – uncovering stories of surveillance, poetry and protest — to Voice Notes, a collaborative arts project that centres the voices of refugees, asylum seekers and displaced people. Supported by research undertaken at Northumbria University and Nottingham Trent University, work spans academic publications, exhibitions, performances, broadcast and recording, and continues to grow.
